Lawrence Arnold, 85, formerly of Fort Scott, Kan., died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, at the Pittsburg Health and Rehab Center in Pittsburg, Kan.

He was a street repair foreman for the city of Fort Scott, Kan., for 20 years, retiring in 1981.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille, of El Dorado Springs; two sons, Dale Arnold, of Fort Scott, Kan., and Donald Arnold, of Springfield; three stepsons, David Parker, of Uniontown, Kan., Darrell Parker, of Fort Scott, Kan., and Garen Parker, of Mulvane, Kan.; a stepdaughter, Glenna Rae Wagenecht, of Loveland, Colo.; a sister, Alice L. Ames, of Fort Scott, Kan.; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ray Lee Arnold; and two brothers, Leslie Arnold and Glenn Arnold.

Phillip Rhodes will conduct graveside services at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 15, at the Memory Gardens of Bourbon County Cemetery under the direction of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home at 10 a.m., Wednesday, for a visitation and leave for the cemetery at 10:45 a.m.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Donations may be sent to or left in care of the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home at 15 W. Wall Street, P.O. Box 209, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
