Mr. Jenkins was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was united in marriage to the former Eva "Frances" Stephan on June 7, 1951, in Independence, Mo. He was a Christian and was baptized at Bible Chapel in Longville, Minn., in Long Lake by Pastor Bill Payne. He was a road construction worker and dealt in heavy equipment, but what he liked to do most was fish.
Survivors include his wife, Frances, of the home; a half sister, Mary Jane Jenkins of Joplin; 15 nieces and nephews; and 16 great-nieces and -nephews. Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Mary Elizabeth Jenkins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, at Evergreen Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dan Rorabaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Service arrangements are under the direction of Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
