Lonnie Easton Trotter, age 49, Lamar, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, following a four-year battle with ALS. He was born Sept. 28, 1955, in Liberal, Mo., to Harold Leland and Leona Emily (Carpenter) Trotter. He married Nancy Irene Sims on July 16, 1977 in Lamar.

He worked for the Barton County Sheriffs Department as the chief jailer, Barton County Ambulance and as caretaker of the Lamar City Park. He worked with the local Boy Scouts of America.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Trotter; one son, Joshua Trotter, of the home; his mother, Leona Trotter, Liberal; three brothers Jerry Terill, Florida, Larry Terill, Grain Valley, Mo., Roy Farmer, Independence, Mo.; one sister, Gaynell Pock, Emporia, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Shelby Miles Trotter; and one sister, Evelyn Farmer Pointer.

Services are pending under the direction of Daniel Funeral Home.

Contributions are suggested to the Trotter Family Trust in care of the funeral home.
