What started as a week-long effort to beautify Missouri highways and streams has evolved into a month-long event involving hundreds of groups and thousands of citizens.

Youth from the Rich Hill Youth Development Center of Missouri's Division of Youth Services will support the April NoMOre trash program by providing litter cleanup at Old Town Access, Harmony Mission, Peabody and Ripgut Conservation Areas near Rich Hill. The youth will also clean litter on the county roadway leading to the Ripgut area. The Missouri Departments of Transportation and Conservation jointly sponsor this effort which was launched in 2002 to focus public attention on the problem of littering.

During last year's one week event volunteers collected 13,500 bags of trash and truckloads of used rubber tires and other items too big to bag. To learn more about what is available to support the NoMOre trash program visit the NoMOre Trash Web site at www.nomoretrash.org.
