Lloyd E. Geivet, 84, Bolivar, died May 19, 2005, in Jerico Springs, Mo.

He was born April 1, 1921, in Jerico Springs, to William Henry and Nettie Belle (McLeod) Geivet. He married Margaret Cathern Gaines on Dec. 23, 1945.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had been a farmer in Nevada and had owned and operated Geivet's Goody Shop in Galmey for 13 years and had hauled lime and fertilizer. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Brand, Greensboro, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Services were held on Monday, May 23, with the Rev. Pete Davidson officiating. Burial followed in Greenfield Cemetery in Jerico Springs, Mo., with military honors presented by AmVets Post No. 114, of Flemington. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Pitts Chapel in Bolivar.
