Elsie I. Carlat, 91, formerly of Nevada, died Monday, July 25, 2005, in Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
She was born Nov. 30, 1913, in Milo, to Daniel Anthony Rapp and Ella Mae Pace Rapp.
She and A.E. Carlat were married on May 16, 1933, in Fort Scott, Kan. He preceded her in death in 1986.
She and her husband farmed in Vernon County for many years. In 1933, they moved to California where they lived until returning to Vernon County in 1958. She was a member of the Ash Street Baptist Church, Nevada. She had lived in Arizona and California with her daughter for the past four years.
Survivors include one son, Darold Grene, Carlat Sr., Huntsville, Ala.; one daughter, Sharon R. Carlat, Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Paul Rapp, Nevada. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty D. Davis; and one sister, Dollie Howell.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, July 30, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment will follow in Milo Cemetery, Milo. Friends may call Wednesday after noon and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. The family receives friends 7-8 p.m., Friday, July 29, at the funeral home.
