Marylyn Kaup Krivena, 74, of Prairie Village, Kan., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at home.
Marylyn was born April 11, 1931, in Stuart, Neb., to Ferd and Eunice Kaup.
Marylyn graduated from Nevada High School, in 1948. She attended Drury College in Springfield, Mo., and St. Mary's School of Nursing in Kansas City. She worked for St. Mary's Hospital and Menorah Hospital, and was at University of Kansas Medical Center for 30 years.
Survivors include five sons, Peter A. Krivena II, Kansas City, David Krivena, St. Petersburg, Fla., Miles Krivena, Prairie Village, Kan., Jason Krivena, Seffner, Fla., and Bradford Krivena, Prairie Village, Kan.; five grandchildren, Peter Krivena, Justin Krivena, Jacquelyn Krivena, Kaylee Krivena and Nicholas Krivena; one brother, Norman "Tuck" Kaup and his wife, Marilyn, Birmingham, Ala., and sister-in-law, Vanessa Kaup, Nevada, Mo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter A. Krivena I, on Feb. 12, 2005, and also one brother, Marvin "Tod" Kaup.
Visitation will be on Sunday, Sept. 11, 3-5 p.m. at DW Newcomers, 8201 Metcalf, Kansas City, Mo. There will be a private family burial. Marylyn often planted trees in honor of one's life. The family suggests contributions be made to "The National Arbor Day Foundation."
