In appreciation for Anti-Van

Dear editor:

I want to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for all the effort that students, parents, teachers and staff gave to make the 2005 Nevada Middle School Anti-Van a success. The project remains uncommon among school districts. Many school and communities experience problems during Halloween that are not found in Nevada. This year, 411 students attended the Anti-Van activities.

This project takes a great deal of time, effort and hard work. Parents, teachers and local businesses give to this effort to see that Anti-an is a success. These people are to be commended for this special night that they provided for our kids. i would also like to thank the following businesses for their generosity: M&M Motor Supply OPAA Food Service, and Shelly Swopes, Casa Azteca, Movie Gallery, McDonalds, Burger King, Family Video, Wal-Mart, Nevada Flowers and Plants and Pizza Hut.

Cullison recovering from car wreck

Dear editor:

I am Tina Wisecup, Jonathon Cullison's mom. Jonathon was in a car wreck on Oct. 9, 2005, he was life-flighted to St. Johns hospital in Joplin, Mo.

Jonathon's neck was broken and there was spinal cord bruising and swelling. Jonathon was taken off the respirator on Oct. 20, and was transferred to Mid America Rehabilitation Hospital in Overland Park, Kan., on Oct. 21. His prognosis is very, very good. I thank God for each and every reflex, twitch, movement or any small thing as it comes back, which we all thank for granted. After speaking with employees who have worked here for years or even patients of Mid America Rehabilitation, recovery has been phenomenal. I also believe God will be the largest factor behind his recovery.

Therefore on behalf of myself and my family, please accept our sincere appreciation for all of the support for Jonathon. It has been awesome! There are several kids and faculty which visited Jonathon and decorated his ICU room. Thank You! Thank you for all of your financial donations, they were helpful for clothes and shoes needed for rehabilitation therapy. Thanks again to all Nevada High School students, faculty and parents. Thank you for all the telephone calls, the cards, visits and gifts for Jonathon. Thank you for all the donations whether in a can, through student, Sonic, Sidewalk Cafe or in a deposited into an account at First National Bank on behalf of Jonathan Cullison, or even handed to me, without that, it would not have been as easy to be able to be with Jonathan continuously, which is where I need to be. Thank you to each of my dear, dear friends who supported me through this in so many ways. But most of all I want to thank you each and everyone, for all of your prayers, you prayers and faith are going to help me more than anything. I see God's miracles each day as Jonathan regains some small items we take for granted, and for that we are so thankful for the prayers and for Gods precious gifts.

Jonathan may now be contacted by writing Jonathon Cullison Room 202, Mid America Rehabilitation Hospital 5701 W. 110th Street, Overland Park, Kan. 66211

If you would like to continue cards or letters, I do continue to hang them on his wall. Also please continue praying. God is listening.

Thank you.
