Patricia Ann Woodfill

Patricia Ann Woodfill, age 74, of Nevada, died on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., following a short illness. She was born on May 5, 1931, in Fort Scott, Kan., to William Alfred Hughes and Lea Drake Hughes. On Feb. 3, 1952, she was married to James E. Woodfill in Fort Scott. He preceded her in death on July 7, 1975.

Pat grew up and graduated from high school in Fort Scott. She attended the Columbia Christian College and graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo. She later studied music at the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri in Kansas City through independent study for a number of years after graduating from college. She was a charter member of Dianas MFWC, P.E.0, Chapter DW, Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.), Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and volunteer for the Nevada Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she has played the piano for the past 50 years. She also worked for the Ewing Law Firm and taught piano lessons for 50 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Janet Kesler of Muncie, Ind.; son, Jim Woodfill, Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Chris Smith, Lake Lotawana, Mo., Erin Ketterman and her husband, Matt, Nevada, Andy Smith and his wife, Megan of Nevada, Annie Woodfill, Kansas City, Mo., and two great-grandsons, Lane and Tyler Ketterman, Nevada.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with pastor David Rorabaugh officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends 5:30-6:30 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
