Robert L. Steinman, 74, Nevada, Mo., died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a short illness. He was born Aug. 26, 1931, in Hamel, Ill., to Herman Steinman and Alice Reising Steinman.
Bob lived in Nevada for the past 30 years. He received his bachelor of science degree in business administration from Kansas University. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea. Bob worked at Farm and Home Savings in Nevada for 25 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Nevada Elks Lodge No. 564.
Survivors include one niece, Valerie Mills Stendebach and her husband, Jon, Tulsa, Okla.; their son, Ian Stendebach, Tulsa; one brother-in-law, Ted Mills, Stillwater, Okla.; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by one sister, Charlotte Mills in 1997.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, April 3, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with John Nichols officiating and concluding with an Elks Lodge No. 564 memorial service. Interment will be in the National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kan., with military honors provided by the VFW Olson-Frary-Burkhart Post No. 1165. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
