Robert Lee Wagner went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 28, 2006, at his home, with his family at his side. He was born Dec. 2, 1927, near Stotesbury, Mo., to Roy Elmer Wagner and Lucy Ann Hair Wagner. He married Dorothy Ogle Ensor Dec. 6, 1986, in Schell City, Mo., and she survives of the home.

Mr. Wagner served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He lived most of his life in Vernon County and surrounding areas. He worked in construction and following the wheat harvest. Robert was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also raised running dogs. He excepted the Lord as his Savior November 1997. He attended the Community Christian Church. Having been bed ridden for the past five years, the high light of his life was when the grandchildren and great-grandchildren would come to give hugs and kisses and to get cookies or candy that he kept at his bedside for them.

In addition to his wife Dorothy, survivors include seven children, Debrah Manley and husband Jay, Joplin, Mo., Mary Anderson, Higginsville, Mo., Darlene Leimkiller and husband Dave, Donna Raggo, Mabel Pryor and husband Dale, all of Nevada, Susie Ellis, Walker, Mo., and James Ensor and wife Donna, Oronogo, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elsie Headrick, Richards, Mo., Ruby Martin, Independence, Mo., and Lila Wayland, the state of Arizona; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Edna Phillips and Bonnie Laderer; and one son, Rolla Ensor.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 3, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Wes Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Green Mound Cemetery, Harwood, Mo.

Friends may call from now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, between 6-7 p.m.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Community Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
