Richard Martin Myers, 88, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2006, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada following a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 12, 1918, in Nevada, to Elmer E. Myers and Ona Pierceall Myers. He married Margrete McKinney on Dec. 21, 1940, in Nevada. She preceded him in death on Sept. 26, 1992.

Richard was born and reared in Nevada. He was reared as a Catholic and attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Nevada. Shortly after his marriage, he and his wife moved to Colorado. He and his wife returned to Nevada in the late 1940's when he started his own business, Myers Wheel Alignment, retiring in 1986.

Survivors include one son, Richard E. Myers and his wife, Joyce E., Walker, Mo.; one grandson, Philip L. Myers, Walker; one great-grandson, Steven Myers, Harwood, Mo.; two sisters, Mary K. Campbell, Carthage, Mo., and Gertrude Myers Loveall, Fredericktown, Mo.; three nephews, Charles F. Manning, Lenexa, Kan., Bill Campbell, Carthage, and Terry L. Loveall, Fredericktown; and two nieces, Beverly Morgan, Galesburg, Ill., and Judy Glaze, Carthage. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; five brothers, Earl, Alva J., Louie, Steven A., and Ernest Raymond Myers; one sister, Bernadine Welton; and one grandson, Erik Myers.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, July 31, at Worsley Cemetery, Bronaugh, Mo., with John Nichols officiating. Friends may call now and until 9:30 a.m., on Monday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
