Nellie worked for Key Industries in Fort Scott and the Nellie Don Dress Company in Nevada. She was of the Baptist faith. Nellie was a former member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Lawrence, and husband, Jim, of Nevada; two grandchildren, Bryan Lawrence, Nevada, and Bridget Kavanagh, Carterville, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, Shannon Lawrence, Deerfield, Mo., and Melissa Kavanagh, Carterville; and a great-great-granddaughter, Emilie Lawrence, Deerfield.
The Rev. Bill Smith will conduct graveside services at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 11, at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Scott. The family will receive friends at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel on Friday from 10 a.m., until leaving for the cemetery at 10:45 a.m.
