Leona Lawson -- Rodney Bastow

Terry and Hazel Lawson, of Nevada, announce the engagement of their daughter, Leona Lawson, to her high school sweetheart, Rodney Bastow. Rodney is the son of Rowann Bastow and Jim Bastow, both of Nevada.

Bride-to-be Lawson is a 2004 graduate of Nevada High School. She attended Missouri Southern State University in Joplin and took a year off to join the Army National Guard. She plans on returning to college in the spring of 2007.

Groom-to-be Bastow is a 2003 graduate of Nevada High School. He also joined the Army National Guard. He is being sent to Iraq on Aug. 21 for a year-long tour.

The couple plans to marry when Bastow returns from Iraq.
