Carl M. Bunker

Carl M. Bunker, 82, Irwin, Mo., passed away suddenly on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, at Barton County Memorial Hospital in Lamar. He was born Sept. 15, 1924, in Nevada, Mo., to Moses Bunker and Daisy Mae Keller Bunker. He married Rosa Kargl on July 24,1956, in Germany and she survives of the home.

Carl served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, serving during World War II, two tours of duty in Vietnam, the Korean Conflict, and was also stationed in Germany and Japan. Following his retirement from the service in 1972, he and Rosa purchased their farm in Barton County near Irwin where they have lived ever since. Carl worked for 20 years at the Lamar School District as a custodian until his retirement.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Rosa, include five children; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Claude and Alphanzo.

There will be a private family gathering on Sunday, Feb. 25, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, Mo.
