Lola Mae Luney Capell

Lola Mae Luney Capell, 75, of Jerico Springs, Mo., formerly of Carthage, died at Hillcrest Hospital, Tulsa, Okla. She was born Nov. 5, 1931, in Jasper County and was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Susanna Ruth "Armstrong" Watkins. She lived in the Carthage area for many years and she was a homemaker and a full time mother.

On Jan. 12, 1951, Lola married LaVon L. Luney in Eureka Springs, Ark., and he preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1982. She married Edward Capell in August 1998, he survives.

Lola is survived by three sons, George Luney of Lockwood, Mo., Jerry Luney of Avilla, Mo., and Lavon Lee Snow of Miller, Mo.; three daughters, Jean Burton of Carthage, Mo., Anna Maggard of Sheldon, Mo. and Emma Kennedy of Miami, Okla.; and one stepdaughter, Donna Capell of Kansas; one sister Lela Faye Patrick of Carthage; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Lee Watkins; one daughter, Glenda Luney; three brothers, Elmer Watkins, Carl Watkins and Arthur Lee Watkins.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, March 2, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carthage. Visitation will be an open visitation all day today, March 1, at Ulmer Funeral Home, Carthage.

Contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association in care of the Funeral Home.
