Live birds visited the Nevada Public Library on Wednesday. Delia Lister, director of the Nature Reach program of Pittsburg State University, talked to kids about birds of prey. Lister brought a live Barred Owl and a hawk for the children to see. She also let the children touch some stuffed birds to learn more about them for their Show-Me Readers program. The children have been focusing on raptors and with Lister's help, they were able to get a close look at live predators and learn about their importance and why many are endangered.
