Arrest servicemen on Nevada car theft charge

Sheriff Les Hunt planned to go to Liberty today to return two AWOL Army men from Camp Chaffee, Ark., to Nevada to face car theft charges.

The two were arrested by Clay County authorities yesterday after abandoning a car stolen Monday night from Ola Fentonk, who operates a garage on Highway 71 near Camp Clark.

Sheriff Hunt identified the two as Charles Edward May, 17, and John Franklin Sayer, 18. The sheriff said the two stole a car at Fort Smith, Ark., and abandoned it north of Sheldon on Highway 71. The sheriff recovered the Fort Smith vehicle earlier this week.
