Mitchell Keith "Mickey" Moburg, 67, Nevada, Mo., passed away Sunday, March, 18, 2001, at his home in Nevada, Mo., following a sudden illness. He was born March 7, 1940, in North Kansas City, Mo., to Oliver Andrew Moburg and Genevieve Murdock Moburg. He married Georgia Duke on Sept. 11, 1970, in Mesa, Ariz., and she survives of the home.
Mickey was born and reared in North Kansas City, Kan., and moved to Amsterdam, Mo., at age 11 where he lived and attended school. He came to Nevada in 1976 where he has lived ever since. Mickey worked in maintenance at Cottey College for 25 years until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Georgia, include one daughter, Michelle, of the home; two sons, Keith Moburg and Mark Moburg, both of Springfield, Mo.; two nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Kenneth Dean Moburg.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 22, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Nevada, with Neal Swarnes officiating. Interment will follow in Scott Cemetery in Amsterdam, Mo. Friends may call now and until 8 p.m., Wednesday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church on Thursday prior to the service.
