Ralph Michael Collier, 56, Nevada, Mo., passed away Saturday, April 21, 2007, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo., following a lengthy illness. He was born July 4, 1950, in Kansas City, Kan., to Ralph Orville Collier and Ruby Pearline Miskell Collier. He married Carol Ann Person on Oct. 12, 1996, in Deerfield, Mo., and she survives of the home.

Mr. Collier was reared in this area and spent the majority of his life here. He worked in the funiture delivery business and also as a custodian in the Nevada R-5 school system. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Nevada. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

Survivors in addition to his wife Carol, include five children, Chris Mayfield, Harrah, Okla., James Hites, and Emily Hites, both of Nevada, Carol Hites and Dana Hites, both of Fayetteville, Ark.; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Kelly Bybee, Huntsville, Texas, Harley Collier, Lamar, Mo.; two sisters, Connie Moffatt and Diana Duncan, both of Nevada. He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Austin Lukenbill.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, April 25, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Bill Platt officiating. Intement will follow in Moore Cemetery. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
