Annabelle Brooks, 97, Walker, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at Cedar County Memorial Hospital, El Dorado Springs, Mo., following a brief illness.

She was born July 2, 1909, in Nevada, to William Henry Harrell and Loretta Stout Harrell. On Aug. 15, 1947, she and Claude Brooks were married in Nevada, Mo. He preceded her in death in March of 1958.

Annabelle was born and reared in Vernon County and spent her whole life here. She was a homemaker, a member of the Christian Church in Walker and a 50-year member of the Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include three sons, Floyd Bennett, Dederick, Mike Brooks, Milo, and Stephen Brooks, Nevada; two daughters, Roseann Colvin, Walker, and Lana Olson, Joplin; 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, William Bennett and Marshall Brooks; one daughter, Marilyn Green, and one grandchild, Rebecca Brooks.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 1, at Ferry Funeral. Home, Nevada. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends 7-8 p.m., Thursday evening, May 31, 2007, at the funeral home.
