Joseph Todd Atkinson

Tuesday, August 7, 2007

Joseph Todd "J.T." was born June 13, 2007, in Springfield, Mo. to Brian and Jacqueline "Jacque" (Cotten) Atkinson, Pittsburg, Kan.

He was our little miracle baby and a great bundle of joy. On Aug. 4, 2007, Jesus needed a special angel, so he wrapped his loving arms around J.T. and lifted him to heaven.

Even though J.T. was here for such a short time, he touched the lives and hearts of so many.

He left behind, and is now waiting in heaven for, his mommy and daddy, grandpa and grandma Jack and Marlanna Cotten, Nevada; granny and grumpy Cindy and Doug Smith of rural Galena, Kan.; papa and nana Keith and Paula Atkinson of Pittsburg, Kan.; great-grandpa Marlon E. Atkinson, Columbus, Kan.; aunt Doris and uncle Gregg Rice, Brownwood, Texas; aunt Rhonda and uncle Danny White, Nevada; aunt Kristy and uncle Gregg Jones, Scammon, Kan.; uncle Ryan and aunt Jay Bea Atkinson, Pittsburg, Kan.; uncle Trever and aunt Samantha Atkinson, Columbus, Kan.; paternal step-great-grandfather Cloyd Bower, rural Pittsburg, Kan., and numerous other relatives and friends. He will be missed by everyone who loved him so very much.

Already waiting in heaven with open arms are paternal great-grandmother Betty Atkinson, paternal great-grandparents Harley and Margaret Hallam, paternal step-great-grandmother Donna Bower, maternal great-grandparents Northrup and Olive Larson, and Nelly and Drew Cotten.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, Pittsburg, Kan., with the Rev. Jim Sukraw officiating. Burial will follow in Crocker Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may call the funeral home after 3 p.m. on Tuesday. The family will be at the home of Keith and Paula Atkinson, Pittsburg, Kan. E-mail condolences may be left at our Web Site, www.bathnaylor.com.
