Edith A. Pettibon, 85, Nevada, Mo., passed away suddenly Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, Nevada. She was born Aug. 6, 1922, in Nevada, Mo., to Robert Lee Chrisenbery and Mina Shaw Chrisenbery. She was married June 6, 1963, in Miami, Okla., to Robert Lee Pettibon. He preceded her in death Jan. 22, 2005.

Mrs. Pettibon was born and raised in Nevada, and spent her entire life here. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Nevada. She worked for a number of years as a nurse in the Surgery Department at the Nevada City Hospital. She loved her music and played many instruments including the piano, organ, violin and accordion.

Survivors include one son, Ronald "Ronny" Overman and his wife Marilyn, Sheldon, Mo.; one daughter, Frances Kay Christy, Nevada; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ena Mae Forkner, Nevada, and Imogene Nall, Belton, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, one daughter, Glenda Overman, three brothers, Kenneth Chrisenbery, Robert Earl Chrisenbery and Richard Chrisenbery, and one sister, Nellie Broughton.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 17, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with John Nichols officiating. Interment will follow at Newton Burial Park in Nevada.

Friends may call now and until the time of service at Ferry Funeral Home. The family suggests that memorials may be made in her honor to the Nevada Senior Center, in care of the funeral home.
