Letter to the Editor

Concern about recent event

Saturday, October 27, 2007

Dear editor:

The recent events at Cottey College (promoting and embracing the homosexual lifestyle) compels me to respond. I am not a violent person. I do believe bullying is wrong. However, I believe bullying can be demonstrated in many forms. In the last several years the homosexual agenda in our country has bullied their way into our schools, teaching our children it's just "a choice;"into our universities, teaching our young people to "think outside the box;" into our television, teaching our society it's just "a way of life;" and even into our churches, teaching the ignorant "it's really no big deal to God". But that's not true. God's Word does not change like men's minds, beliefs, and morals. His Word tells us plainly in Romans 1:26-28, "..women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind." The words above Cottey College Chapel tell it all: IN ALL THY WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM." It was that picture in your paper that motivated me to write this letter. What a contrast! I don't believe the problem for the homosexual is a lack of tolerance. I believe the problem is that they want society to embrace and accept their choice of lifestyle as acceptable and moral. No matter how hard mankind tries to change wrong to right, it will never be right. Violence is wrong. Bullying is wrong. Lying, cheating, stealing, gossip, rage, and malice are all wrong. And so is the homosexual lifestyle. But there is good news. There is TRUTH. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. And the truth will set you free.
