Cleanup is needed for the community

Wednesday, November 7, 2007

Dear editor:

Thank you, Richard Carpenter for saying many things that needed to be said in your "Fall Cleanup" column on Oct. 19.

I have been a proud resident of Nevada for many years, and this community has so much to offer to those who might be looking for a community in which to relocate or those who just come to visit. We need to help encourage businesses like Cherry Street Grill to open their doors here.

Richard's second point concerning "esprit de corps," is also true. If you are well groomed, you feel good about yourself, you are much more self confident, and you are proud. Like clothes, home and businesses do not have to be new to look good. The important thing is that you do the best you can with what you have.

Nevada is a beautiful community; it just needs a little starch and a good pressing. As Richard pointed out in his article, we can each make a difference in how our community looks.
