Letter to the Editor

Our generous community

Tuesday, January 22, 2008

Dear editor,

The holidays are over and everyone is settling into their daily routines. I would like to take this time to thank everyone who helped us with our Annual Teen Angel Program. First, a BIG "thank you" to the staff at Community Outreach for providing us with a clearinghouse by which to obtain the names of teens.

"Thank you" to all the businesses, civic organizations, and countless individuals who gave of their time and money.

Without YOU there would have been no gifts!

I'd also like to tell you about the Dec. 20 gift distribution. What a glorious sight seeing a community of workers coming together at the National Guard Armory.

The Ambulance Barn was distributing Toys for Tots, Community Outreach was providing a food pantry, and the Nevada High School Student Council as well as a host of other volunteers was there to assist with the festivities.

Teen Angels was privileged to be a small part of the days activities.

It was inspiring to witness all these groups of people, coming together and making a difference in our community.

Thanks, Nevada for being there with your time, donations and giving spirit. Remember, TOGETHER WE DO make a difference. May that spirit of togetherness and giving live in our lives all year long.

Thank you Nevada.

Sincerely,

Evergreen Memorial Chapel,

Jason Claspill and Terri Meyers
