Larry and Sondra Cowen, of Fort Scott, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Monica Cowen, to Josh Holder, of Fort Scott, son of Ron and Linda Holder, of Mount Sterling, Ill., and the late Charla Holder.

Bride-elect Cowen is a 2000 graduate of Fort Scott high School, and graduated in 2005 from Kansas State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. She is currently employed by Mercy Health Systems of Kansas, in admissions.

Prospective-groom Holder is a 2000 graduate of Brown County High School, Mount Sterling, Ill., and is currently employed by Wal-Mart Automotive.

The couple plan to be married on Saturday, May 24, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church, 308 S. Crawford, Fort Scott.
