Fred C. Biggs Jr.

Fred C. Biggs Jr., was born on Aug. 14, 1938, in Nevada, the son of Fred C. (Dode) Biggs Sr. and Leona Phillips Biggs.

He was gloriously transported from his earthly home in Rich Hill, to his heavenly home on Saturday morning, June 7, 2008, surrounded by a host of family and friends. Fred retired from Jones Truck Lines, located in Kansas City, Kan., in July 1991. After retirement, he was employed by the Hume R-8 School District for 12 years as a bus driver. In November 2003, he went to work for the Nevada School District, where he was employed as a bus driver, until his health failed in March 2008.

Fred truly enjoyed the students he had the privilege of transporting over the years. He was looking forward to getting well and being back on the job in August. He made friends with children easily, and always wanted them to know he treasured their friendship.

Fred was a member of the Penecostal Assembly Church, in Nevada.

Fred is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Gail, whom he married on Aug. 13, 1966. He is furthur survived by two sons, Brian and Brent; a daughter, Vickie; two sons from a previous marriage, Richard and Kevin; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siter and brother-in-law, Carol and Ralph "Jerry" Herren, and sister-in-law, Cheryl Biggs; and a host of other family members and friends.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Althea; and one brother, Jerry.

Funeral services will be held on June 14, at 2 p.m., at the Pentecostal Assembly, in Nevada, with Dennis Engelbrecht and Shelby Brant officiating. Contributions may be made to the Pentecostal Assembly, in care of Heuser Funeral Home, in Rich Hill.
