The Hume Hornets baseball team picked up their second win of the year as they knocked off the Northeast Vernon County Knights in a home game Tuesday night.

The Knights were first on the board as they plated three runs in the top of the first inning, but the Hornets were quickly able to answer with three of their own in the home half of the frame. Hume added six more runs in the third to take a 9-3 lead.

The Knights were able to cut the lead in half in the fourth with three runs to make it 9-6. Hume added four more runs in the sixth inning to take what turned out to be a 13-6 win.

With the win, the Hornets improve to 2-0 on the season and will be in action again this weekend at the Hume Invitational tournament.
