Walter N. Ewing, 82, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at Barone Alzheimer Care Center in Nevada following a lengthy illness. He was born Aug. 24, 1926, in Ault, Colo., to Clem and Geneva Newman Ewing. He married Ruth Anna Scott on July 10, 1959, in Miami, Okla., and she survives of the home.
Walter came to Nevada from Colorado at an early age. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1944. He served two years in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Midway as a Radarman Third Class. Walter worked for Kraft Mercantile in Nevada for 37 years until his retirement in 1988.
In addition to his wife Ruth, he is survived by one son, David Ewing, Clearwater, Fla.; one daughter, Jeanie Ewing, St. Louis, Mo., and one granddaughter, Brandon Loy, Cullowhee, N.C.
No services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
