Dennis Grady Dean

Dennis Grady Dean, 57, Moundville, Mo., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin following a brief illness. He was born on May 10, 1951, in Del Rio, Texas, to Booth Gardy Dean and Wilma Geraldine Harris Dean.

Dennis was born in Texas and spent most of his formative years in Wichita, Kan. He was a Baptist. He has lived in the Nevada, Vernon County area for the past 30 years. Dennis made his living as a carpenter. He was an avid poker player.

Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Dean, Nevada; two sons, William Carpenter and Dustin Carpenter, both of Nevada; one brother, Ken Dean, Marion, Ark.; and one nephew, Jeff Dean, Rogers, Ark.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 2, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Pastor David Rorabaugh officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
