Thanks for the community support

Dear Editor,

St. Mary's Catholic School recently participated in National Catholic Schools Week. This celebration of religious education occurs annually during the last week of January. Our theme, this year, was "Celebrating Service," with the students participating in a variety of themed activities. We focused on our service to our parish, our community, our nation, our clergy, staff and volunteers, and the students themselves. Our students collected pennies throughout the week, to coincide with the 100th day of school, to donate to the Moss House for their annual Valentine's Day fundraiser, The students were able to raise $49.37 for this important organization. We would like to thank our school families, staff, parishioners, and community for helping us make this a fantastic celebration. In particular, we would like to thank the following businesses for donating to our school to help in this celebration. Casa Azteca for staff certificates, Bella Rose for staff flowers and gifts, McDonald's for coupons, Cavener's for staff gifts, 3M for student and staff gifts, Ring TV for the loan of a big screen TV for our final day celebration and Family Video for staff and student coupons. As you can see, with donations from these businesses, our school had a wonderful celebration, We would like to thank our community for their continued support of Catholic education as we continue to provide our service to others, Sincerely,

Nancy Coffer, principal
