Florence Christina Cousley, 93, Nevada, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada following a brief illness. She was born on Nov. 15, 1915, in La Due, Mo., to James Newton Maddox and Lena Belle Gross Maddox. She married Joseph Batesman Cousley Jr., on Dec. 18, 1937, and he preceded her in death on March 26, 1991.

Florence grew up in Nevada and attended Nevada schools. After graduation she worked as a bookkeeper for Richardson Motor Company in Nevada. Following her marriage, she and her husband lived in Nevada until the fall of 1952 when they moved to Lebanon, Mo. She was employed for many years for the OEO in Richland, Mo.

Survivors include her sister, Wilma Coffman with whom she has been residing for the last several years; two nephews, Will Coffman McElroy and Scott Cousley McElroy, Lufkin, Texas; Joe McElroy, Lufkin, Texas, and a special friend, Donna Allen, Dallas, Texas. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one niece, Christina Coffman McElroy.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 9, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, with the Rev. Ralph Clark officiating. Friends may call now and until 9:30 a.m., on Monday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
