There were reports of a burglary in the Nevada area, property damage in the Nevada area, a stolen vehicle in the Nevada area, a suspicious vehicle in the Milo area, assault in the Nevada area, theft in the Nevada area, a stranded motorist in the Nevada area, a careless and imprudent driver in the Milo area, three 911 wrong number calls, burglary in the Richards area, and a stranded motorist in the Milo area.

James David Swink, 48, of Hume, was arrested and processed by the Vernon County Sheriff's Office on charges of tampering with a motor vehicle and a warrant out of Bates County for failure to appear for nonsupport. He is being held in lieu of a $7,500 bond.

Darrell E. Harden, 52, of Fort Scott, was arrested and processed by the Vernon County Sheriff's Office on charges of driving while intoxicated. He was released in lieu of a $350 bond.
