Cleo Charlotte Hazlett, 90, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2009, in Nevada, following a lengthy illness. She was born Nov. 18, 1918, in Polk County, Mo., to James Blaine Evans and Maude Peery Evans. She married Lee D. Hazlett and he preceded her in death in 1983.
Cleo lived in Nevada since 1951 moving here from Cliquot, Mo. She worked at Key Industries as a seamstress and for the "We Care Center" as a volunteer. Cleo was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include one sister, Viola Parks, Osceola, Mo., and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Lloyd Evans, Floyd Evans, Eugene Evans, and Wayne Evans, and three sisters, Goldia McBride, Evelyn Paxson, and Alice Evans.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, May 5, at the Church of Christ in Nevada with David Studer officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery, Cliquot. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
