April 27

An accident occurred at 7:55 a.m., in Cedar Ridge State School's parking lot, involving a car driven by Susan K. Forester, of Nevada, and a van driven by Julie A. Ogden, of Nevada. No injuries were reported.

An accident occurred at 1:32 p.m., in Social Security Administration's parking lot, involving a car driven by Jackie L. Allen, of Nevada, and a parked SUV owned by Douglas and Dondria McGuire, of Butler. No injuries were reported.

April 28

There was a report of a burglary in the 200 block of east Ashland, made by Julie Eador, of Nevada. She reported a check, a medallioin, and jewelry stolen.

There was a report of a petty theft from a vehicle in the 1000 block of north Main, made by Alana Martin, of Nevada. She reported cash, a bag and miscellaneous items stolen.

There was a report of a theft of a firearm from a motor vehicle in the 1800 block of north U.S. Highway 71, made by Matthew Chadd, of Nevada. He reported a shotgun, cigarettes, and cash stolen. Another party, Jayson Pryor, of Nevada, reported cash stolen. The shotgun was recovered by the Vernon County Sheriff's Office. One 23-year-old female was picked up in connection with the incident. The case is still under investigation, and will be forwarded to the Vernon County prosecutor.

April 29

There was a report of a theft from a vehicle, in the 1200 block of north Elm, made by Heather Mills, of Nevada. She reported a purse and contents stolen.

April 30

There was a report of a theft in the 3000 block of Industrial Parkway, made by Jack Lawson, of Palmerlake, Colo. He reported page packs, and hardware stolen.

May 1

A one-vehicle accident occurred at 9:08 p.m., on U.S. Highway 71 before Highland, when a car driven by Mark D. Miller, of Liberty, Mo., struckt metal (part of the guard rail) that was in the roadway. No injuries were reported.

A one-vehicle accident occurred at 9:54 p.m., in U.S. Highway 71 Bridge A3156, when a pickup struck the guard rail and overturned. No driver was located. The accident is still under investigation.

May 3

An accident occurred at 12:17 a.m., at AmVets' parking lot, when an unknown vehicle struck a car owned by Tim Whitworth, Nevada. No injuries were reported. The accident is still under investigation.

May 4

There was a report of an animal bite on the 1400 block of north Ash, made by Glenda Dirks, of Nevada. She reported being bitten by a dog. The dog is being held for observation.

An accident occurred at 10:05 a.m., on U.S. Highway 71 and Cherry, involving a car driven by Geraldine L. Ogle, of Nevada, and a car driven by Ashley N. Gage, of Nevada. No injuries were reported.

An accident occurred at 6 p.m., on Lynn before Locust, when an unknown vehicle struck a car owned by Gary B. Scott, of Nevada. The accident is still under investigation.
