Doris Noreen Hull Pettibon

Doris Noreen Hull Pettibon, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital East in Lee's Summit, Mo. She was born Feb. 20, 1922 in Fort Scott, to John Wesley Hull and Viola "Dolly" Wiggins Hull. In 1940 she was married Quentin N. Pettibon in Kansas City, Mo., and he preceded her in death in July 1997, after 57 years of marriage.

Doris was born and raised in Fort Scott, and after her marriage spent her time as a homemaker and mother in Nevada. During her life, she was an avid flower gardener, golfer, and a very good bowler. She also enjoyed attending church, music, cooking, reading, traveling, and socializing with her many friends.

Survivors include, her daughters, Kay Foland and her husband Dave, Bella Vista, Ark., Vicki Wagner and her husband Bob, Surprise, Ariz., and Pamela Peters and her husband Sheldon, also of Surprise, Ariz., and Kansas City, Mo.; her son, Greg Pettibon and his wife Rhonda, Kansas City, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Tim Foland, Erin Pettibon, Jason Herstein, Dona Lindberg, Emily Pettibon, Kristen Pettibon, Jennifer Anstoetter and Jill Wagner; and nine great-grandchildren, Noah Herstein, Brady Herstein, Tyler Herstein, Sydney Lindberg, Brody Foland, Elijah Wagner, Ella Anstoetter, Lydia Anstoetter and Madilyn Anstoetter; her sisters, Dena Willfong, Merritt Island, Fla., and Bev Merriman, Austin, Texas; her sister-in-law, Marvel Beerbauer, Fort Scott.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandson, Ryan Wagner, one brother, Paul Hull and one sister, Betty Hull.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 1, at Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield, with Dr. William Cox officiating.

Friends may call now and until 10 a.m. at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.

Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Nevada Masonic Lodge in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
