Charles Sherwood Drake

Charles Sherwood Drake, 74, Nevada, died Friday, May 29, 2009, at his residence. He was born Nov. 13, 1934, in Nevada, to Earl James Drake and Bertha Marie Parsley Drake.

Mr. Drake was born and reared in Nevada and was a lifelong resident here. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. He drove a truck for a living most of his working life.

Survivors include, two daughters, Vickie Houchin, Nevada, and Julie Drake, Warsaw, Mo.; one stepson Raymond Ellifrits, Nevada; six grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Drake, Nevada; two half sisters, Erlene Randall, Nevada, and Deloras Ann Monkres, Kansas City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Diana Lynn Drake, one son, Gary Drake and one brother, James Drake.

There are no services planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
