Osa Mae Legleiter, 88, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at her home in Nevada following a sudden illness. She was born June 19, 1921, in Caddo County, Okla. to Henry N. McGahey and Viola Osborn McGahey. She married Leonard Legleiter in 1938, in Portales, N.M. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1967.

Osa was born and reared in Oklahoma. Following her marriage, she and her husband spent time in New Mexico and Texas before coming to this area in 1960. She spent her life as a homemaker and helping her husband on the farm. Osa was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nevada.

Survivors include two sons, Mack Legleiter, Portales, N.M., and Belvin Legleiter, Nevada; two daughters, Viola Smith, Columbia, Mo., and Frances Legleiter, Nevada; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Lonnie Legleiter; one granddaughter, Carrie Renae Legleiter; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, and five sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Oct. 15, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Justin Hoye, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday evening, Oct. 14, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and friends may call now and until 8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to St. Mary's Catholic Church in care of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
