Helen Pauline Couch, 80, Bronaugh, Mo., passed away on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Barone Alzheimer's Care Center in Nevada following a lengthy illness. She was born June 20, 1929, in Garland, Kan., to Emmit Wylie Boatright and Pearl Mae Wise Boatright. She married Martin Oliver "M.O." Couch on May 25, 1947, in Bronaugh, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 2006.

Pauline was born and raised in this area and spent virtually her entire life here. She graduated from Bronaugh High School in 1947. She worked for a time as activities director at Nevada Senior Center, but was primarily a homemaker and farm wife. Pauline was a member of the Bronaugh Christian Church. She was a member of Drywood Community Club and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She touched many hearts, blessed many lives and will never be forgotten.

Survivors include two sons, David Couch and his wife Connie, Bronaugh, Phil Couch and his wife Peggy, Moundville; dear friend and daughter, Jill Couch, Moundville; six grandchildren, Susan Versluis, Neosho, Mo., Gregg Couch, Bronaugh, Corey Couch, Nevada, Staci Andersen, Nevada, B.J. Goodell, Moundville, and Tiffani Swarnes, Webb City, Mo.; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Reed, and Irma Jenkins, both of Winfield, Kan.; and one brother, Paul Boatright, Bartlesville, Okla. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Jean Couch, four sisters, and two brothers.

A private family graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 10, at Worsley Cemetery, Bronaugh. Friends may call now and until 1 p.m., Thursday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and the family receives friends from 6-7 p.m., on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Barone Alzheimer's Care Center in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
