Johnnie "Dee" Dabbs, 74, Sheldon, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Barton County Memorial Hospital in Lamar, Mo. He was born June 13, 1935, in Stark City, Mo., to Hugh M. Dabbs and Lottie Mary O'Niel Dabbs.
Dee was employed by O'Sullivan Industries for several years, retiring in 1997.
Survivors include his wife Andrea Dabbs of the home; one son, Paul Dabbs, Leeton, Mo.; two daughters, Tammy Kaumans and Crystal Dabbs, both of Nevada; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene Dabbs, Harrisonville, Mo.; one sister, Alma Duvall, Independence, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents; his first wife, Carolyn Dabbs; two daughters, Joyce Heckadon and Connie Booth; and three brothers, Hugh M. Dabbs Jr., Carroll Dabbs, and Curtis Dabbs.
A committal service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, at Sheldon Cemetery. Friends may call now and until noon on Saturday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, and the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
