The Nevada High School boys' basketball program is sponsoring a youth basketball camp for boys entering third through eighth grades.

The camp will take place June 7-11, and will emphasize fundamentals and encouragement while providing individual attention, inexpensive instruction and great competition. The camp comes with a cost of $30 for third though fifth graders and $35 for sixth through eighth graders and includes a camp T-shirt.

Campers will also receive prizes donated by professional and college teams. The camp will include three separate sessions per day, starting with third and fourth graders from 1-2 p.m., followed by fifth and sixth grade from 2:15-3:45 p.m. Seventh and eighth grade sessions will follow from 4-5:30 p.m.

In addition to lessons in the fundamentals of shooting, ball handling, rebounding, passing, defense and team play, participants will also experience fun and challenging competition in hot shot, free throw, dribble tag and beat the clock contests. Registration forms can be picked up in the front office at Benton Elementary, Truman Elementary, Nevada Middle School and Nevada High School and will be due June 1.

For more information on the camp, contact Nevada High School Head Basketball Coach John McNeley at (417) 448-2020 ext. 5049.
