Leesa Maree Haehn, age 27, a former resident of Fort Scott, Kan., more recently of Leavenworth, Kan., died Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at her home in Leavenworth following a lengthy illness. She was born Aug. 8, 1982, in Fort Scott, the daughter of David Hite and Kathy Brown Hite.

She graduated from the Fort Scott High School Class of 2001. She graduated from the University of St. Mary's in Leavenworth in 2008, and taught first grade at the Leavenworth McArthur Elementary School. She married Jhon Haehn on Dec. 7, 2005, in Lansing, Kan. She was a former member of the Community Christian Church, and currently of the Platt City Baptist Church.

She will be lovingly missed by her husband, Jhon, of the home: 3-week-old daughter, Brooke Katherine Haehn, of the home; her mother and step-father, Kathy and Brandon Malone, Fort Scott; father and stepmother, David and Kelly Hite, Corinna, Maine; and mother-in-law, Collene Haehn, Topeka, Kan. She is also survived by three sisters, Heather Geiger and Tausha Pelzer, Fort Scott, and Kayla Braley, Corinna, Maine; and two stepbrothers, Josh Braley, Corinna, Maine, and Ryan Goltra, Fort Scott. Also surviving are her paternal grandparents, Richard and Leta Hite, Aurora, Mo.; maternal stepgrandparents, Keith and Joycelyn Malone, Fort Scott: and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Katherine Brown.

The Rev. Kevin Moyers will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 22, at the Community Christian Church.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at the Cheney Witt Chapel.
