Albert F. Newton, 82, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at his home in Nevada, following a lengthy illness. He was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Richards, Mo. to William Sherman Newton and Sylvia Abigail Schnedler Newton. He married Donna Puckett on May 28, 1969, in Miami, Okla. and she survives of the home.

Albert grew up in the Richards/Stotesbury area. He was a lifelong resident of Vernon County. He served in the U. S. Navy for two years. Albert worked for Horace Johnson Trucking most of his working life until his retirement due to disability.

Survivors include his wife Donna; his children, Donna Rolando and her husband Terry, Bronaugh, Mo., Reta Jo Carpenter and her husband Daniel, Nevada, Tammy Johnson and her husband David, Nevada, and William Allen Newton, Jefferson City; 23 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Newton; three sisters, Imogene Barnes, Mary Freeman, and Anna Jane Henning; two daughters, Teresa Robertson and Mary Phelps; and two sons, Sonny Newton and infant son, Carl Dean.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 23, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Brother Dan Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada, with Military Honors. The family receives friends 7-8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home and friends may call today and until the hour of service.
