Neva T. Wardin, 83, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada, following a lengthy illness. She was born May 15, 1927, in Bartlesville, Okla., to Albert Asbury Watson and Thelma T. Ritchey Watson. She was married to H. W. "Jack" Wardin in 1949, and he preceded her in death in May 2003.
Neva moved to Nevada as a small child and lived her life in the Vernon County area. She worked at the Nevada State Hospital for more than 20 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Spencer of Nevada, and Peggy Swafford of Nevada; one son, William Wardin of Kansas; five sisters, Pearl West and her husband John, Nevada, Betty Craig of Texas, Daisy Groves and her husband Lee of Kansas, Dorothy Sisson and her husband Ben, Richmond, Mo., Rosemary Idker and her husband Byrle, Clinton, Mo.; three brothers, Wesley Watson and his wife Linda of Oregon, Bill Watson and his wife Sylvia of Indiana, and Frank Watson and his wife Jessie, Rockville, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 11, at Ferry Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Pyle officiating. Interment will follow in Click Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
