Joseph Ralph Edmonds, 89, Nevada, died on Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at Nevada Regional Medical Center. He was born on Jan. 1, 1921, in Vernon County, to Howard Richard Edmonds and Nellie Phelps Edmonds.
Joe Ralph lived his entire life in Vernon County. He attended school in Rich Hill and later Nevada. He has lived in Nevada for the past 21 years. Joe Ralph kept books for the Edmonds Brothers Farms and served as secretary and treasurer for the Balltown Cemetery for numerous years. His life's passion was music and playing and pickin' with his many friends for decades.
Survivors include one brother, Jim Edmonds, Horton, Mo., and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Roy, Kenneth, Edwin, and Donald Edmonds, and two sisters, Mabel Beshore and Cless Balk.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 14, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Interment will follow in Balltown Cemetery, Horton.
