Mildred J. Bobbett, 91, Nevada, passed away at her home on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, following a brief illness. She was born on March 11, 1919, in Percival, Iowa, to James Bobbett and Beatrice Lockhart Bobbett. She married Jacob Edward Bobbett on Dec. 26, 1936. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1986.

Mrs. Bobbett came to Vernon County with her family. She was a homemaker and later worked as a meat wrapper for Karbe's, Maxwell's, and Foodtown Grocery Stores. She was a cashier and waitress at 54 Café until her retirement in 1984.

Survivors include three daughters, LaDeane Beisly and her husband, Norman, Nevada, Elaine Malcom and her husband, Don, Sheldon, and Patrice Harris and her husband David, Nevada; two sons, DeVere Bobbett and his wife, Barbara, Stockton, Mo., and Harlan Bobbett, Nevada; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Bobbett, Kanopolis, Kan.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, James Paul Bobbett, Talent, Ore., and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by two sons, Darrell Bobbett, and Truman Bobbett; three sisters, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 7, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Ray Dean Scism officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call Sunday and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
