Derek Lane Kirkham, 28, Nevada, passed away in Bourbon County, Kan., Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010. He was born Feb. 11, 1982, in Hot Springs, Ark., to William Kirkham and Ginger Ethredge Kirkham. He married Lyndsey C. Johnson on June 17, 2006, in Nevada, and she survives of the home.
Derek grew up in Hot Springs, Ark., and graduated from Lake Hamilton High School there in 2000. He has lived in Nevada since 2005 and worked for Tamko Manufacturing Company in Lamar, Mo., for the past six years.
Survivors in addition to his wife Lindsey, include one son Christian, of the home; his father, Bill Kirkham, Glenwood, Ark.; his mother, Ginger Ethredge, Pueblo, Colo.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ken and Judy Loomer, Nevada; and his grandparents, Bud and Mabel Ethredge, Pueblo, Colo. He was preceded in death by one brother, Patrick.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 21, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Gerald Wiltshire officiating.
