Alice Helen Brandt, 81, of Norwalk, Calif., died on Friday, Nov. 6, 2010, at the Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada. She was born on May 12, 1929, in Matlock, Iowa, to Herb and Magdalene Mastbergen. On July 25, 1946, she was married in Iowa, to Donald Brandt, and he preceded her in death.
Alice grew up in Melvin, Iowa, and has lived the past 64 years in Norwalk, Calif. She was a homemaker and loved attending Los Angeles Dodger and Anaheim Angels baseball games as well as watching them on television.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy Brandt of Norwalk, Calif.; one son, Shelby Brandt and his wife, Tricia, of Nevada; two grandsons, Stoney Brandt and his wife, Amber, of Nevada, and Chase Brandt and his wife, Kimmie, of Nevada; six great-grandchildren, Trevor, Trynce, Jamin, Chaden, Sydnee, and Brooklyn; two brothers, Bill Mastbergen and his wife, Ruth, of Estherville, Iowa, and Jim Mastbergen and his wife, Lily, of Sheldon, Iowa. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; and close friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Maryann; and her grandson, TJ Brandt.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 8, at the Pentecostal Assembly Church in Nevada with the Rev. Dennis Englebrecht officiating. Interment will follow on Nov. 15, in California. The family received friends from 1-2 p.m., at the church on Monday, prior to the service.
