Anna Eileen Garrett, 92, of Raytown, Mo., died on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at the Hidden Lake Care Center in Raytown, following an illness of several months. She was born on Oct. 16, 1918, in Horton, Mo., to Charles and Anna Mae Stoltz Hauser.

Eileen was raised in Horton, Mo., and graduated from Nevada High School in 1937. During World War II, Eileen was a secretary for a U.S. Army brigadier general in Washington, D.C. She also was formerly employed by J.C. Penney in Kansas City. For many years Eileen served as a volunteer at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

Survivors include two sons, Rodney Gene Garrett and his wife, Brenda, of Springfield, Mo., and Kent Garrett and his wife, Michelle, of Independence, Mo.; one daughter, Gerry Ann Prine and her husband, Donald, of Carlisle, Iowa; three grandchildren, Corey Knowlton, Riley Garrett and Isabella Garrett; two great-grandchildren, Calvin and Devin Knowlton; one brother, Dale Hauser and his wife, Velda, of Independence, Mo.; one sister, Marilyn Palmer and her husband, Randy, of Lee's Summit, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 5, at Newton Burial Park in Nevada with the Rev. Ralph Clark officiating. Services are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
